May 24, 2018 By eJP

USCJ has appointed Dana Kanter Prottas as Senior Director, Teen Engagement. Dana begins her new position on June 18, 2018.

As Senior Director, Teen Engagement, Ms. Prottas will be responsible for leading USCJ’s international youth division and spearheading the growth of USY and Nativ, the organization’s college preparatory program.

Prior to joining USCJ, Ms. Prottas served as Executive Director at Yachad, the Jewish Education Program for Teens in Minneapolis.

The Graduate Theological Union (GTU) of Berkeley, California, has appointed Rabbi Daniel L. Lehmann as the eighth president in the school’s fifty-six-year history. Rabbi Lehmann comes to the GTU from Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts, where he recently completed his tenure as president and professor of pluralism and Jewish education. Lehmann also served as board chair of the Boston Theological Institute, where he successfully led Hebrew College to become the first non-Christian institution to join that theological consortium.

Rabbi Lehmann will begin his term as president on August 1, 2018.
