Applications Open for Slingshot ’14-’15

December 12, 2013 By eJP

Slingshot 13-14Slingshot is pleased to announce that applications for Slingshot ’14-’15: A Resource Guide for Jewish Innovation are now being accepted through January 24th, 2014. The Slingshot Guide is an annual publication of the most innovative organizations in the North American Jewish community. Applications are also being accepted for three accompanying publications: the Women & Girls Supplement, the Midwest Edition, and the Washington, DC Edition, which will each highlight the 15-20 most innovative Jewish initiatives making an impact in these respective communities and program areas. Organizations submit applications which are then evaluated by a panel of independent readers, who review organizations and projects based on four main criteria: innovation, impact, leadership and organizational effectiveness. Selected organizations are eligible for grants from the Slingshot Fund, a peer giving group of NextGen philanthropists.

This year, versions of the application will be made available to giving circles and other small funding sources looking to support innovative Jewish projects. These giving circles often do not otherwise have the resources or capacity to request and manage proposals from organizations that they seek to support. Slingshot hopes these resources will not only benefits those funders, but also further promote the great work of applicant organizations and potentially help applicants (regardless of their selection into Slingshot) access new funds in the future.
