Over 700 participants gathered for Limmud NY over Presidents Weekend to celebrate Jewish culture and education. They grappled with essential questions about Jewish life and community in sessions, at meals, while singing karaoke and dancing at parties, and in the hallways of the Hyatt Regency Princeton, in Princeton, NJ.

Jonathan Sarna, university professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University and chief historian of the National Museum of American Jewish History; Leah Gottfried, “Soon By You” creator; and, Yochai Meital, “Israel Story” podcast co-founder and producer, were among the 140+ presenters at the weekend event. The smorgasbord of 300 sessions ranged from text study and chavruta to art, film, and food, as well as volunteer meetups and designated Olympic watching spaces.

Camp Ramah alumni provided leadership for the children and teen tracks. In addition, there was a Hillel International track for college students.

Limmud NY inaugurated Limmud in North America 14 years ago. Today, Limmud NY is part of the regional hub Limmud North America, operating in 19 communities across the United States and Canada. The global Limmud network includes 80+ communities in 40+ countries. All offer Jewish learning and cultural events organized by local volunteers.
