The Changing Landscape of Jewish Media

January 13, 2010 By eJP

The Jewish Daily Forward has announced they will be partnering with the English language edition of Haaretz.

In the first official announcement for 2010 of formal collaboration in the Jewish media world, these two papers are moving ahead by creating an international partnership – a way of strengthening a common culture between two global communities.

Beginning January 24, a special four-page edition of The Forward will be inserted in Haaretz’s Sunday editions.

“For Israeli readers, this will open a wider window to the Jewish world, and especially to the essential relationship between the United States and Israel,” said Jane Eisner, editor of The Forward. “The Forward strives to interpret that relationship and tell the contemporary American Jewish story. And we are thrilled to be able to reach those readers through Haaretz, a newspaper whose standards of journalistic excellence we admire and share.”

The new partnership grows from a long-standing collaboration between The Forward and Haaretz English Edition, in print and online. After months of strategic planning, the two papers are working together to bring the Forward’s award-winning journalism to English speakers in Israel.

Stay tuned; we think this is just the beginning of new relationships.
