Applications Open: NIF/Shatil Social Justice Fellowship

cohort_samjoshrebeccaeli_iconicThe NIF/Shatil Social Justice Fellowship is a one-of-a kind 10 month experience for post college individuals. Fellows spend 4 days a week on the front lines of social change in Israel at premiere Israeli NGO organizations. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, February 1, 2017.

Shatil, NIF’s social justice arm, provides oversight, regular enrichment programs, and site visits to develop fellows’ understanding of Israeli activism and enhance their skills as social justice activists and professionals.

Fellows receive a monthly stipend and become fully integrated in the NGOs where they work 32 hours a week. Very good to excellent Hebrew skills are required along with strong leadership skills. Fellows must be able to function independently in a work environment.

One of the goals of the fellowship is to train social activists who will return to North America and be engaged in the progressive Jewish conversation about social justice in Israel. The enrichment programs offered during the year are geared to building these skills.
