Teens Around the World Celebrate Shabbat Together
AZA and BBG recently hosted “Global Shabbat”, a BBYO international initiative where Jewish teens around the world gathered in their local communities to celebrate Shabbat at the same time worldwide.
Over 3,000 Jewish teens in 237 communities worldwide were engaged – including celebrations across the United States, Canada, Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Serbia, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
BBYO does not promote the use of technology during Shabbat. As a pluralistic organization, members are encouraged to observe holidays as they see fit while respecting the traditions of those in attendance. The photos in this post were taken at celebrations where attendees were comfortable with the use of technology.
