In First, JDC Announces Europe-Focused Tikkun-in-Action Grants

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is calling on Jews and Jewish communities in Europe to apply for its inaugural Tikkun-in-Action grant program funding local nonsectarian and humanitarian projects aiding vulnerable populations outside the Jewish community. The initiative – which provides training, networking, and funding opportunities – draws from JDC’s decades long expertise in the fields of disaster relief and international development.

Grants, which will range from $5,000 to $18,000, will support both one-time events as well as ongoing activities addressing the needs of underserved groups including women and children, refugees and IDPs, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Jewish communities and individuals living in Europe, including Turkey, are eligible to apply. The application deadline is March 1, 2019 and funds will be awarded in April for project implementation in 2019.

The grants are administered through JDC’s disaster relief and international development unit, and are supported by the Drs. Alfred and Isabel Bader Philanthropic Fund. Visit http://tikkuninaction.jdc.org for more information.
