Camp Tevya Alumnus Gives $1 million Gift

Michael Leven, a veteran hospitality industry executive and CEO of the Georgia Aquarium, has made a $1 million gift to Camp Tevya, one of the three Cohen Camps, located in Brookline, NH. This gift, the largest single contribution from an individual in the nonprofit, Jewish camp’s 76-year history, makes possible the new Aaron and Blanche Gordon House, which will provide space to accommodate more department heads and senior specialists and also bring in more visiting rabbis, artists, and coaches. Camp Tevya recently broke ground on the new building.

The new building will be named in honor of the late Aaron and Blanche Gordon, beloved members of the Camp Tevya community. Aaron Gordon served both as Tevya director in the 1950s through the early 1970s and as Leven’s teacher at Boston Latin School.
