IDC Herzliya Alumni Raise over 1,000,000 NIS for Scholarships

Following the example of leading academic institutions around the world, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford and others, the Alumni Association at IDC Herzliya, has concluded a unique campaign, the first of its kind in Israel, under the title “A place in the heart”, with the goal of raising 1,000,000 NIS from 8,000 IDC Herzliya Alumni to be donated as scholarships for IDC students in need.

The campaign’s goal was reached after eight months, four months ahead of plan.

as a former student (2009 graduate)it would be wise to use the monies raised to upgrade the material taught at the IDC. This institution compares itself to the likes of Harvard and Yale, not even close, for 3 years I was bored, maybe once I go close to being intellectually challenged or stimulated…
The monies received should go towards a larger selection of library material and books (more than one copy please!) a committee dedicated to elevating the professor’s “teaching” abilities, and material taught to be able to send larger numbers of graduate students to ivy league schools (not the handful the school prizes itself on..)
regarding students in need – I think today all students are in need – tuition/lodging fees are exuberant and therefore all students should qualify for scholarships based on their prior grades, merits and potential.
