Limmud’s promise is that, wherever you find yourself,
Limmud will take you one step further
on your Jewish journey
Since its humble beginnings in the UK over 30 years ago, Limmud has come a long way. In 2015 alone, there were 66 Limmud events around the globe, run by 3,000 volunteers with 33,000 participants! On a broader scale, Limmud has grown to 83 Limmud groups in 43 countries.
Here, with the 2015 Limmud International Annual Review, is a snapshot.
“The Jewish world will most often develop from the edges, through the entrepreneurship of people who are willing to make sacrifices and build new institutions to serve our community.”
The Limmud FSU Phenomenon
Some 35,000 young Russian speaking people, overwhelmingly in their 20s to 40s, have been exposed through Limmud FSU, for the first time, to their Jewish heritage, which, under 70 years of Communist rule in the USSR, was suppressed or expressly forbidden.
Now, celebrating 10 years of successful activities, Limmud FSU has released Limmud FSU: A Retrospective.
