Jewish Agency Subsidiary Houses Carmel Fire Victims
In the aftermath of the devastating Carmel Fire, Amigour, a subsidiary of the Jewish Agency for Israel, has completed placing 20 mobile homes in a new neighborhood in Kibbutz Beit Oren, located in the heart of the Carmel mountain range. These structures will serve families whose homes were burned during the fire.
Amigour is overseeing these activities under the auspices of the Government of Israel’s Ministry of Housing.
The operation included transferring 20 buildings used by the evacuees of Gush Katif. Presently, construction crews are renovating the buildings with the goal of being completed and ready for families to move in by the end of the month. The mobile homes will house 21 families (80 people).
Amigour will continue to manage the site for next two years until the families will be able to move back into permanent housing.
