Gorovitz to Step Down as Head of SF Federation
Jennifer Gorovitz, CEO of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, – and the only female CEO of a large city Federation – plans to step down on March 31, 2014.
The former lawyer plans to return to the practice of law, focusing on trust and estate planning for individuals and families, and to spend more time with her family.
According to the recently released 2013 survey of Jewish communal salaries complied by The Forward, “Gorovitz was vastly underpaid relative to other leaders of Jewish organizations. Her 2012 salary of $311,044 was less than that of 31 Jewish organizational leaders on the Forward’s survey.”
