BINA and The Daniel Centers Announce New Partnership for Summer Program in Tel Aviv

February 18, 2014 By eJP

This summer the BINA Center for Jewish Identity and Hebrew Culture (The Secular Yeshiva) and the Daniels Centers for Progressive Judaism (Beit Daniel) are joining forces to offer a two week seminar in Tel Aviv for Jewish Educators, Leaders, Rabbis and Rabbinical Students.

The program is an opportunity for Jewish leaders of all denominations and affiliations to study together with renowned Israeli scholars, to live in the first Hebrew city of Tel Aviv and to explore the most critical issues of social justice in Israel today through hands-on volunteer experiences, encounters with Israelis and educational tours.

During the course of the program, participants will study issues related to social justice presented from both ancient and modern Jewish sources while engaging in hands-on and meaningful social action work with vulnerable populations ranging from working with the elderly and holocaust survivors, with foreign workers and African asylum seekers or in co-existence projects with Arab and Jewish children. In addition to studying and volunteering, participants will encounter leading activists and social change organizations while simultaneously experiencing the culture, life and Jewish renaissance that Tel Aviv-Jaffa have to offer.

Program dates: July 20th-31st . Accommodations: Fully equipped apartments centrally located in Tel-Aviv and Jaffa.
