The Wexner Foundation has just accepted its 26th class of Wexner Graduate Fellows and Davidson Scholars, which includes an inaugural cohort of Wexner Field Fellows, made possible through a partnership with the Jim Joseph Foundation.

Trends in the Jewish professional world have been changing since the founding of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship program. Many promising Jewish professionals are entering the field through channels other than specific Jewish graduate programs. To address this trend and to initiate investing in this type of Jewish professional, The Wexner Foundation created the pilot Field Fellows program. This program will be comprised of a team of emerging professionals within its prestigious Graduate Fellowship.

The Wexner Field Fellowship is an unprecedented professional development opportunity for full-time Jewish communal professionals to pursue individualized professional development plans. Wexner Field Fellows will receive funding from The Wexner Foundation toward their professional growth, while also benefiting from a cohort of current and future Jewish professionals, and the four-year leadership learning experience of the Wexner Graduate Fellowship Institutes.
Demand was great for the pilot year of the Wexner Field Fellows program with 70 Jewish communal professionals applying for three spots in this year’s class.

The Wexner Graduate Fellowship/Davidson Scholars Program promotes excellence in Jewish professional leadership. It is rooted in a four-year leadership learning program for those in graduate school programs designed to train them to become Jewish professional leaders and those employed full-time in Jewish communal organizations. In addition to financial assistance toward graduate study or professional development, fellows are part of a diverse professional community that encourages learning about one’s self as a leader though interactions with others with different points of view.

The application cycle for next year’s Wexner Graduate Fellowship and Field Fellowship will open in fall 2013. The application can be found at wexnerfoundation.org.
