Vote On The Next Big Idea

ROI Young Innovators propose innovative Jewish projects through online platform

What happens when you put 150 young Jewish innovators in a room for four days and challenge them to share their visions for transforming the world? For the participants at the 2012 ROI Summit, the result is a dazzling array of ideas created collaboratively by innovators from over thirty countries and showcased online for the world to view.

Now is your chance to weigh in on these innovative projects. The Innovation Showcase is a culminating moment of the ROI Summit – a gathering of members of the global community of young Jewish innovators created by the philanthropist Lynn Schusterman.

For the first time, ROI has opened up voting to those outside the ROI community.

This year, 50 ideas were submitted by ROI participants to an online platform that allows viewers to “like” projects and comment. The three projects that receive the most votes will present their ideas for scrutiny and feedback to a panel of experts at the Innovation Showcase on Thursday, June, 14th.

The projects cover a broad spectrum of needs within the larger Jewish world, from a free platform to democratize education and an adopt a Holocaust survivor safta (grandmother) program to one that outlines a year of universal Jewish service.

The panelists include Israel’s godfather of high-tech start-ups, Yossi Vardi, the Israeli actress, director and activist Noa Tishby, journalist and co-founder of Israel’s largest solar power company, Yossi Abramowitz and Vice Chairwoman of one of Israel’s most successful real estate companies, Danna Azrieli.

Voters can “like” and comment on as many projects as they see fit. To protect against spam, the system will ask voters to register and authorize their email address.

Voting will be closed at 8 a.m. Jerusalem time on Thursday, June 14th (1 a.m. est).
