Two top bankers meet in Moscow – not to discuss finance but to discuss Jewish identity

[American] Matthew Bronfman, controlling stakeholder Discount Bank and chair of the Limmud FSU steering committee and [Russian] Mikhail Fridman, chair Alfa Bank and Genesis Philanthropy Group, met Thursday here in Moscow.

The conversation, on the eve of Limmud Nobel Moscow, focused on how to enhance Jewish identity among young adult Russian speaking Jews around the world – including Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Israel and the U.S. and models of possible collaboration between Limmud FSU and the Genesis Philanthropy Group.

Also participating in the meeting was Maj. Gen. [Res] Elazer Shtern, former head of IDF Manpower and chair advisory board of Genesis and Chaim Chessler, former treasurer of the Jewish Agency for Israel and founder of Limmud FSU.
