The Times of Israel Celebrates the Best of Israel at their 2015 New York Gala

January 9, 2015 By eJP

The Times of Israel was founded in 2012 to tell Israel’s story and to enable the world to better understand the remarkable, embattled, constantly evolving and insistently thriving nation it is. The theme of the very first Times of Israel Gala, to take place at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City on February 15, 2015, is to tell Israel’s story, mirroring the mission of the paper itself.

The event will honor and celebrate the very best that Israel has to offer. In the company of some of Israel’s most outstanding men and women, guests will hear from the honorees who have steered Israel through diplomatic storms, pioneers who protect and advance the nation through technological innovation, international film stars, entertainers, athletes, humanitarians and many more.

The event is scheduled to feature Hon. Shimon Peres, father of the Iron Dome Dr. Danny Gold, humanitarian activist Meira Aboulafia, Professor Alan Dershowitz, supermodel Bar Refaeli, founder of Waze Uri Levin, actress and model Gal Gadot, NBA star athlete Omri Casspi, computer scientist Kira Radinsky and Israel’s singer of the year Miri Mesika. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also invited.

Speakers and presenters also include consul general of Israel in New York Ido Aharoni, Israel’s permanent representative to the UN Ron Prosor, former IDF chief of staff Dan Halutz, Israeli ambassador of goodwill Tal Brody, director of the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies Rabbi Shlomo Gestetner and founding editor of the Times of Israel David Horovitz. The event will be hosted by Israeli actress Noa Tishby and will honor the memory of fallen solider Max Steinberg.
