Great article, Abigail! This is all amazing work, as I’ve been part what both JDC and AJC are doing, and it’s really excellent. One thing I do find missing though, and something that may be a good followup or maybe even coming in part 2 on Tuesday, is the further discussion of what lies beyond all this awesome work being done for/with 20s and 30s, but rather the actual integration of the 20’s, 30s, and even 40s constituency into the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s lay leadership. (i.e. committees, boards of directors, campaigning, conferences, closed door meetings, actual decision making, etc.) I know work is already being done in this regard and we’ll get there in due time… But we need to get there before it’s too late, as time isn’t on our side.

Jarrett, I’m not sure that time isn’t on our side— we have survived this long!
What a great article! Keep up up the amazing work in engaging this talented demographic!
We ran a research and focus group based forum here in San Diego this year, I think you might find the results relevant, and insightful. Thought I’d share.
Excellent article. What I was missing were counter examples. It can’t be true that all efforts are great. So tell us more about failures we can learn from! Would love to see a list of ‘top five major Jewish organizations likely to collapse within ten years.’
