Slingshot Announces Hire of New Executive Director

After an extensive search process, the Board of Directors of Slingshot announced the hire of Stefanie Rhodes as Slingshot’s new executive director. Ms. Rhodes will officially start her new role on Monday, May 4, 2015.

Prior to joining Slingshot, Ms. Rhodes served as the Director of Annual Giving at the JCC Manhattan, where she created Atid, the JCC’s first giving circle. Ms. Rhodes previously spent nine years at the Jewish Funders Network as the Director of Member Services and Foundation Professionals, where she worked closely with young funders.

Earlier this week, the Slingshot Board of Directors shared the following message with stakeholders: “We believe that Stefanie has her hand on the pulse of innovation in both the Jewish and secular worlds and has a unique vision for Slingshot’s role in promoting innovation in Jewish life. She is an expert community builder and has proven herself adept at program and organizational management. It is for these reasons and more that we view Stefanie as the perfect partner in leading Slingshot through its next stage of growth and impact.”

About: Slingshot seeks to inspire the Jewish community – and grow its capacity – to innovate, focusing on the role of philanthropy in supporting that innovation. Each year, Slingshot publishes Slingshot: A Resource Guide to Jewish Innovation, which highlights the most relevant and impactful Jewish organizations and projects in North America. Being featured in the Guide is often a critical step for selected organizations to attain much needed additional funding and to expand the reach of their work. Selected organizations are eligible for grants from the Slingshot Fund, a peer-giving network of young donors. Furthermore, the Guide is a frequently used resource for donors seeking to support organizations that ensure that the Jewish community remains relevant to each generation.
