San Diego Philanthropists Open Educational Arts Center in Israel

After a meaningful investment of time, expertise and funding, a state-of-the-art high school with a focus on pluralistic Jewish values, is coming to fruition in Sha’ar HaNegev.

Dedicated yesterday, The Alexander Joseph Viterbi Art Center, funded through Jewish Federation of San Diego County, will enrich student’s lives through dance, music, painting and other cultural activities. The Arts Center, part of the newly built Sha’ar HaNegev Education Village, is situated only kilometers away from the Gaza border.

Over the past ten years, the Federation and San Diego Jewish community have contributed more than $10 million to the embattled region.
