For the first time the “Rimon Project”, an International Summer Camp for Russian speaking youth, is now taking place at the Nordiya Youth Hostel, near Netanya.

The camp, under the auspices of The Jewish Agency and the Genesis Philanthropy Group and supported by the Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago, is organized specially for young people ages 13-16 from different parts of the Former Soviet Union and from Israel. The goal is to strengthen the Jewish identity of the youth and their sense of belonging to both the State of Israel and the Jewish People.

Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky noted that “the Rimon Project is one of the Jewish Agency’s activities aimed at strengthening the Jewish identity of the young generation in Israel and the Diaspora. The camp will provide youth from abroad the chance to get to know Israel and Israeli society and will also allow Israeli youth to broaden their familiarity with Jewish communities abroad.”

The two-week camp includes trips around the country, cultural activities and meetings with leading figures in the arts and well-known public figures along with workshops in theater, communication, film and photography. The counselors, from Israel and abroad, are professionals experienced in leading Russian-speaking groups.
