Rose Community Foundation announces new Jewish Life Grants

During the last six months of 2016, Rose Community Foundation awarded 481 grants totaling more than $6.5 million. Of this amount, $5,084,422 was awarded for 126 grants from Rose Community Foundation’s program areas to nonprofit organizations, government agencies and projects that support the health and well-being of the Greater Denver community.

Jewish Life program area:

BUILDing Jewish ECE (Denver): $47,000 to help the four synagogues and JCCs, including Temple Emanuel, Temple Sinai, Robert E. Loup JCC, and the Boulder JCC, involved in BUILDing Jewish ECE’s first cohort continue learning and using sophisticated marketing and family engagement strategies to attract and retain young families.

Colorado Agency for Jewish Education (Denver): $44,688 over two years to expand Jewish Explorers, experiential Jewish learning classes and holiday celebrations for parents and young children in the Highlands and Stapleton neighborhoods.

Hillel of Colorado (Denver): $150,000 over two years for capacity so Hillel can raise the funds it needs to continue to serve Jewish students at Colorado State University, University of Colorado and University of Denver.

Honeymoon Israel (East Amherst, NY): $100,000 over two years to support a Colorado coordinator to staff immersive trips to Israel for young couples who have at least one Jewish partner, followed by peer-led programs and other Denver/Boulder activities in partnership with MazelTogether.

Jewish Federations of North America (New York): $2,500 to support leadership activities.

The Orthodox Union (New York, NY): $90,000 over three years to launch a National Council of Synagogue Youth Denver chapter to serve Jewish teens across all denominations and especially Orthodox teens.

Rose Community Foundation (Denver): $2,600 for the Kohelet Fellowship program, which engages parents in Jewish day schools and early childhood centers in an intensive two-year Jewish learning program.
