“People Who Usually Don’t Lecture – a project of Ze.Ze which plays to sold-out crowds of thousands in Tel Aviv – has expanded globally through the support of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Grassroots Events Program! Five teams spearheaded by members of the ROI Community from Buenos Aires, San Francisco, Ashkelon, Pardes Chana, and New York City traveled to Tel Aviv to be trained to run local editions of the event. The final event – in New York City – will take place this Saturday night.

The goal of “People Who Usually Don’t Lecture” is to build global empathy through simply understanding what it’s like to be someone else. In NYC, five speakers ranging from a Jewish Civil Rights activist to an MTA subway conductor will tell the stories of their lives, paired with music and food that will allow guests to experience the stories through sound and taste as well. The NYC event is also sponsored by the Union for Reform Judaism and is produced by FED and MusicTalks.
