The Jewish Education Project is looking for emerging leaders from Greater New York, who are redefining Jewish education for the 5th annual Young Pioneers Award. Nominations will be open until Monday, November 23nd, 2015 at 9 AM.

In previous years, applications were submitted only by the nominator. This year we are expanding the process to include an opportunity for nominees to tell us about themselves. All nominees will be contacted by Wednesday, November 25th and sent a separate application due Wednesday, December 16th at 9 AM.

The Young Pioneers Award celebrates forward thinking and innovative educators, under the age of 36, who are creating 21st century Jewish education for children, teens and families. The recipients will demonstrate a personal and professional commitment to new ideas, and proven use of technology or other innovative approaches to inspire students and families. They will stand out by designing or implementing new educational initiatives, and by engaging and motivating colleagues as well as their leadership to embrace new ideas.

“To receive the Young Pioneers Award is to know I have had a small hand in helping to secure the vibrant Jewish future I dream of, and thus is deeply humbling and meaningful,” said Lindsay Ganci, 2015 Young Pioneers Award recipient.

Nominees will come from institutions across educational settings and denominations throughout New York City, Westchester and Long Island. Recipients will be chosen by a Selection Committee of Lay Leaders and educators in the field, and advised by The Jewish Education Project staff.

The recipients of the award will be recognized at the annual Celebration to benefit The Jewish Education Project on May 9th, 2016. Each recipient and their organization will have new opportunities to connect with other innovative Jewish educators, public recognition at the Young Pioneers Award event and in other agency marketing materials. Award recipients will receive a $360 professional development stipend.
