New Partnership to offer Accredited Graduate Degrees for Jewish Clergy in Multi-faith Context

unnamedThe New York Theological Seminary (NYTS) and ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal are launching a new education collaboration to award accredited graduate degrees for Jewish clergy in multi-faith contexts. The partnership will establish the world’s first Master in Divinity track for Jewish clergy that fully retains the Jewish tradition’s textual and spiritual character of rabbinic, cantorial and rabbinic pastor ordinations.

The NYTS-ALEPH partnership, based on intensive low-residency pedagogy for adult learners, extends a collaboration that began with a multi-faith Doctor of Ministry with tracks in Liturgy and Spiritual Direction. The Master in Divinity for Jewish clergy students invites specialization in multi-faith service, chaplaincy, education or nonprofit administration. The Master in Divinity degree also meets a key requirement for certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), North America’s major certifying body for professional chaplaincy.
