New Matching Grants for Israel’s Impact Ecosystem

Jewish Funders Network and the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation (Israel) are thrilled to announce a new $1 million matching grant initiative to grow and strengthen the impact entrepreneurship ecosystem in Israel and to generate greater ongoing philanthropic commitment to the field.

You can learn more about this initiative, called Strengthening the Impact Ecosystem, Building Social Economic Resilience in Israel: A Matching Grant Initiative at impact-match.org.

Impact entrepreneurship is an intentional approach to addressing unmet social and environmental needs, alongside a financially sustainable business model. Impact innovation combines a measurable social/environmental return on investment together with a financial return on investment.

The growing impact innovation ecosystem provides capital, products, tools and methods to address the world’s most pressing challenges in sectors such as sustainable agriculture and renewable energy, as well as affordable and accessible basic services, including housing, healthcare, education, etc., all in alignment with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Strengthening this burgeoning field, and attracting more philanthropic support for it, is particularly important at this moment, as we transition from the crisis phase of the Covid pandemic and into the planning and preparing phase. You can learn more about the matching grant program, including all the details for how impact ventures and donors can participate, on the website

On Monday, July 27, from 12–1 pm Eastern (7-8 pm in Israel), we will be holding an information session for funders interested in participating in this program and supporting social organizations in this field.
