The Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program at Brandeis University, in partnership with the university’s Education Program, has announced a new dual-degree graduate program track in Jewish Educational Leadership. It will award participants an MA in Jewish Professional Leadership and an EdM in Education. Applications are now open.

“The new MA/EdM will provide training and graduate program credentials for Jewish professionals focused on Jewish educational leadership,” said Len Saxe, the Klutznick Professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies and Chair of the Hornstein Program.

“Our new program track will equip graduates with the educational and management skills to lead in a broad range of settings, from camps to classrooms, from Jewish institutions like Hillels, federations, synagogues and JCCs, to community-based, travel and museum programs,” he said. “We seek to fuse knowledge with action, traditional ideas with new ways of thinking.”

The MA/EdM track is the fourth dual-degree track option offered by the Hornstein Program. Other tracks include an MA/MBA (Master of Business Administration) and an MA/MPP (Master in Public Policy) – both in partnership with The Heller School of Social Policy and Management; and an MA/MA (in partnership with the Department of Near Eastern and Jewish Studies). Each 21-month residential program includes generous tuition scholarships, job placement assistance, study seminars in Israel, the U.S. and international sites, meaningful fieldwork, and mentoring by faculty in a supportive community of alumni and Jewish professionals, with a 50-year history of excellence and leadership in the field.

Applications for the Fall 2019 are open to all Hornstein Program tracks, including the new MA/EdM.
