“The story of the Exodus is of particular importance to Jews from the former Soviet Union. The seder offers us an opportunity to explore the parallels we find with the history of the physical and spiritual journeys of Russian Jews,” said Yigal Kotler, Director of Russian Speaking Outreach for the Global Day of Jewish Learning.

How do the paths you have taken in life help you understand the journey out of Egypt? What actions can we take to contribute to these journeys? The Exodus involves both the physical passage out of Egypt and the passing of the story through the generations.

The Global Day of Jewish Learning has developed a Russian language text-learning guide to enrich conversations at seders across the world where Russian speaking Jews will gather. This guide contains discussion questions and excerpts of texts about the journey out of Egypt taken from the writings and commentaries of Rabbi Adin Even-Israel Steinsaltz.

This guide and the increased outreach of the Global Day of Jewish Learning to Russian Speaking Jewish communities globally is made possible with the generous support of Genesis Philanthropy Group. It is available for free download.
