National Council of Young Israel Announces Leadership Change

The National Council of Young Israel has announced that Rabbi Pesach Lerner has decided not to return from his six-month working sabbatical to resume his role as Executive Vice President of the organization. Rabbi Lerner, who has served in this role for more than twenty years, has been named Executive Vice President, Emeritus and will serve as an advisor to the National Council of Young Israel. In his new role, Rabbi Lerner will be able to pursue other personal and professional interests and will focus his efforts and energy on a number of critical and pressing issues facing the larger Jewish community and the State of Israel. Rabbi Bini Maryles, Associate Executive Director and Senior Director of Branch Services of Young Israel, will continue to be responsible for the operations and activities emanating from Young Israel.
