Mapping the System: Why is there a persistent gender gap in top leadership in Jewish nonprofit organizations?

September 15, 2020 By eJP

Over the past year, Leading Edge has engaged hundreds of voices in mapping the root causes of the gender gap in top leadership at Jewish nonprofits, in partnership with the Genesis Prize Foundation, SRE Network, and many others. You can see the cumulative findings to date here. Now, we’re returning to the community to pinpoint which of those root causes has the most potential for impact.

To do so, we are employing a game-like tool to crowd-source the collective knowledge of the field. Your input will contribute to a comprehensive map of “what causes what” in this system.

If you’re interested in contributing your perspective to the map, please visit this link by September 18.

The more people who play the game – representing many different identities, roles in the community, experiences, and perspectives – the richer the data and the more robust the analysis that will emerge. Understanding a problem as complex and important as this is the first step toward solving it.

Leading Edge looks forward to sharing results of this research by the end of this year.
