Limmud Festival 2017 is Made By You

London, August 30, 2017: Limmud Festival is the new name for Limmud Conference – the organisation’s flagship international annual gathering.

This year it will take place between December 24-28, attracting thousands of people from all over the world. This change reflects Limmud’s vibrant and dynamic celebration of Jewish learning and culture.

The shift from Conference to Festival is more evocative of the vibe everyone will feel when they walk through the doors in December,” said Limmud Festival Co-Chair Anna Lawton. “We aim to make Limmud Festival 2017 the most dynamic and exciting event on the UK Jewish calendar, made better by each and every participant.” Abi Jacobi, Limmud Festival Co-Chair added.

Returning to Pendigo Lake, near Birmingham, Limmud Festival will continue to be the premier celebration of Jewish culture and learning. Indeed, it has inspired the formation of 83 Limmud groups in 44 countries.

This year, Limmud Festival’s tagline is “Made By You.” You can make your mark and be part of the unmatched Limmud volunteer community with friends old and new. Each year, dedicated volunteers create a unique Limmud space by planning the gathering, assisting at meal times, supporting presenters, looking after children in the crèche and bringing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to everything that they do. Limmud Festival 2017 will celebrate each and every volunteer, giving them the opportunity to have an impact on the Festival they co-create. Here are some of the highlights:

  • The Limmud team has designed a programme packed with engaging sessions delivered by presenters from across the UK and the world, offering something exciting and unexpected at any time of the day and celebrating the diversity of the Jewish community
  • A brand-new street food alternative dining experience bursting with flavour and filled with fun will add to the Festival feeling this year
  • A bigger-than-ever Families and Young & Teen Limmud programmes allow us to provide the Festival experience for all.

“With so much going on at Limmud Festival 2017, you can be sure there’s a personal experience, unique for you and made by you, ready to dive into” – added Jacobi. Limmud Festival registration will launch on Sunday September 3. For more information and to register visit: www.limmud.org
