Leading Edge Appoints New Deputy Director

Mordy Walfish has been named Deputy Director of Leading Edge, the Alliance for Excellence in Jewish Leadership, effective July 31, 2017. In this newly-created role, Mordy will oversee all Leading Edge program strategy and implementation, working closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to translate strategic priorities into action.

Mordy comes to Leading Edge with significant background in designing, launching and scaling major national initiatives. Most recently, Mordy served as the Vice President for Programs at Repair the World, where he played a key role in the organization’s redesign, launching and growing Repair’s signature multi-site community-based service programs.

This hire comes at a critical point of growth for Leading Edge, as the organization doubles down on its efforts to transform the Jewish nonprofit sector into one that attracts, develops, and retains top talent.

Mordy will be the third full-time professional team member at Leading Edge, joining Executive Director Gali Cooks and Program Director Alena Gomulina.

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Mordy is a Wexner Graduate Fellow/Davidson Scholar, a Schusterman Fellow and the winner of the 2015 JPRO Network Young Professional Award. He holds an MPA in Nonprofit Management from NYU Wagner’s Graduate School of Public Service.
