The Kohelet Foundation has embarked on a SmartSchool initiative that transforms the way it supports its students of the Jewish Day School Collaborative of Greater Philadelphia. This program, which involves a partnership with Apple to provide iPad technology to students across its nine affiliated schools, provides students with the best in technology and collaborative learning tools, ensuring Jewish Day Schools aim for the highest achievement in academic excellence.

As part of the new curriculum, students will use the iPads as interactive learning tools in the classroom and at home. Apps on the iPad will allow students to accomplish anything from taking notes to interacting with a World War II map supplemented by firsthand accounts.

By this fall, the nine schools in the Collaborative will roll out their SmartSchool program. Each school will conduct a Back-to-School Night where parents will learn more about the SmartSchool program and their specific school’s rollout plan.
