The Kohelet Foundation and Torah Academy of Greater Philadelphia are pleased to announce a new gift by the Foundation in support of Jewish primary and middle school education in the Philadelphia area. The Kohelet Foundation has pledged a new unrestricted gift of $500,000 to Torah Academy. In addition, the Kohelet Foundation will release approximately $800,000 in restricted funds associated with a prior pledge, for a total unrestricted gift to Torah Academy of $1.3 million to be transferred in January 2015.

Torah Academy plans to use these funds to sustain and enhance its programs and services, to ensure the long-term financial stability of the school and to provide scholarships. The school awarded over $1.3 million in scholarships to 198 students in the 2014-15 school year, a greater than 10% increase from the previous school year.

Since it’s inception in 2008, the Kohelet Foundation has contributed nearly $40 million to the Jewish day school field both locally and nationally. This includes approximately $25 million to the day schools throughout Greater Philadelphia and over $4 million in grants and gifts to Torah Academy.
