Jewish Agency Helps Victims in Mexico Following Earthquake

Jewish Agency Project TEN volunteers in Oaxaca are doing everything they can to help local residents whose homes and infrastructure were damaged by the earthquake.

Immediately following the earthquake, the most powerful to hit the county in a century, Project TEN sent nine volunteers (8 Israeli and one British), two doctors, and two staff members to work with the local community and assist in recovery by distributing food and physical aid to those in need.

The volunteers packed and served about 1000 food parcels, clean water and early childhood packages which consist of diapers, milk substitutes and other necessities. The doctor treated local residents that retained injuries, including many children, some of which were suffering from inhaling dust.

Project TEN program, an international development program that operates volunteer centers in developing areas around the world, opened in Oaxaca in 2013.
