Israeli Police Raid WZO Settlement Division Offices
Police investigators today raided the offices of the World Zionist Organization’s (WZO) settlement division. According to Haaretz, “investigators confiscated documents and other materials.” The newspaper also speculates “[t]he raids are likely connected to the ongoing investigation into the Yisrael Beiteinu graft case.”
The World Zionist Organization’s settlement division has a checkered past including a long history of refusing to make public budgets and other financial information. Included in their revenue, the settlement division receives large allocations of public money for construction budgets on both sides of the Green Line. The organization most recently received a government allocation of 130 million shekels and refused to state where the money would go.
