Israeli Journalists Apologize to Claims Conference Over Controversial Film

Israeli journalists Orly Vilnai and Guy Meroz and Shamayim Productions Ltd. have issued a written apology regarding inaccurate depictions of the Claims Conference in a film that was broadcast on Israeli television in 2008 on Yom Hashoah.

The apology, along with a payment of NIS 150,000, results from a settlement of a libel lawsuit brought by the Claims Conference against the filmmakers and their production company. The Claims Conference has announced its intention to donate the payment to Amcha, an organization that provides psychological counseling and other services to Jewish victims of Nazism in Israel.
