Irina Nevzlin Kogan Steps Down from Nadav Foundation; Takes Senior Role at Beit Hatfutsot

Tel Aviv, July 31, 2012: Irina Nevzlin Kogan, 34, was elected active Chair of Beit Hatfutsot’s Board of Directors today. As active Chair, Nevzlin Kogan will be responsible for the planning of the museum, content development, outreach to Diaspora Jewry and any other additional activities related to the creation of the new Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot.

The Museum will be the first of its kind in the world. The 16,000 square meter cultural center will house a new core exhibition of 4,200 square meters, spread out over three floors in Beit Hatfutsot’s Nahum Goldmann building on the Tel Aviv University campus. The new museum will be the final piece of a comprehensive renewal undertaken by Beit Hatfutsot in recent years with the support of the Israeli government, the NADAV Foundation, and partners around the world.

President of the NADAV Foundation for the past five years, Nevzlin Kogan has been responsible for the strategic management of the Foundation, developing and nurturing relationships between Jewish organizations and institutions around the world, and leading a variety of projects on Jewish peoplehood, Jewish culture and Jewish identity. In addition, Nevzlin Kogan served as the Founding Chairman of the Israeli Center for Better Childhood (ICBC), Vice Chairman of the Governing Board of Jewish Funders Network (JFN) and a member of the Prime Minister’s Round Table, a forum that finds ways to collaborate between the private and the nonprofit sector in order to influence positive change in social policy in Israel.

Due to her new role, Nevzlin Kogan will no longer serve as President of the NADAV Foundation. Nevzlin Kogan received both her BA and MA in Economics from Moscow Lomonosov State University and completed a business program at Columbia University in Non-Profit Management
