Insight: the Inaugural Cohort

Back in December, we wrote about a new fellowship initiative to begin this fall under the guidance of the The Center for Leadership Initiatives and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation:

Insight: The Schusterman Fellowship for Jewish Community.

The Fellowship enables Jews in their 20s who are college graduates to sample careers in the community, while enabling organizations to more effectively utilize young people’s skills and energy. The program offers a unique opportunity to learn by working hand-in-hand with Jewish non-profit organizations.

With the option of being based in either New York City or Washington, D.C., Insight: the Schusterman Fellowship for Jewish Community is a highly competitive, two-year post-undergraduate Fellowship and Leadership Training program. Through a rigorous application and selection process, they were seeking individuals who are motivated, curious and inspired to explore the world of Jewish non-profits at some of the most interesting and innovative organizations in our community.

Beginning in the fall 2008, these ten outstanding, diverse and passionate fellows will participate in a series of three six-month professional rotations at three different top Jewish non-profit organizations and gain skills and experience in the world of Jewish communal work as a career path option. eJewish Philanthropy congratulates both the fellows and participating host organizations.
