Speaking at the Rabbinical Assembly’s annual convention last night, Gidon Sa’ar – Israel’s Minister of Education – said, “The Israeli conversion bill will destroy the unity of the Jewish people and also hurt the relationship between Jews in the Diaspora and Israel. There is no one Jewish stream and there shouldn’t be one Jewish way of life that monopolizes Judaism.”

Sa’ar also noted that the national education in Israel should also contain education for values and Jewish identity.
