In the first Giving Tuesday Israel (31 December), 3,364 donations were made to 283 nonprofit organizations, totaling 1,050,582 NIS. This according to IsraelGives.org, the Israeli-based platform that facilitated the local version of this international initiative.

68% of the donors made first-time gifts through IsraelGives; 82% per cent of the donations were made by Israelis.

In releasing the results, IsraelGives CEO Yonatan Ben-Dor told eJP, “This finding is particularly interesting as in previous years the majority of donations made to Israeli nonprofits on 31/12 were from donors abroad. As a result of this campaign we have created a revolutionary change in end-of-year giving culture in Israel.”
