“Freedom – A Resource for Pesach” Inaugurates Limmud Five-part Israel at 70 Chavruta Series
Limmud inaugurated its latest Chavruta resource series with the release of “Freedom – A Resource for Pesach.” The learning booklets, produced in partnership with UJIA, will offer fresh insight into Pesach, Yom Haatzmaut, Shavuot, Sukkot and Chanukah, in dialogue with all that is the Jewish state in honor of Israel’s 70th anniversary.
“Limmud is about learning and the Chavruta Project is our learning core,” said Limmud Chavruta Project Co-Chair Robin Moss. “This year, as we mark the 70th anniversary of Israel’s establishment, we offer texts that explore our connection to Israel through themes suggested by the Jewish festivals.”
Four volunteers in the UK, led by Joe Grabiner, collaborated on the first discussion-provoking booklet. Inspired by the four questions posed at the Seder, “Freedom – A Resource for Pesach,” poses four questions on the relationship between Jews in the Diaspora and Israel, the relationship between Jews and non-Jews in Israel, and the nature of freedom itself.
