Federation CJA is celebrating its Centennial year and as part of the festivities, over 900 participants (2 chartered planes and 19 buses!), ranging from 18 to 100 years old, are traveling to Israel with the Montreal Mega Mission: Centennial Edition, May 10-19. The group includes 100 first-time visitors to Israel and 116 return visitors from the highly successful 2014 Mega Mission. Together, they are celebrating the community’s continued commitment to Israel and experiencing the country first-hand. This will be the biggest Mission to Israel from a single community in the past several decades.

The Montreal Jewish community has a long-standing and strong commitment to Israel, supported by investments in people, programs and initiatives. In 2017 alone, Federation CJA allocated $3.8M to Israel in direct investments and through national and international partnerships with the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Hayesod, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. The total amount since 1948 is in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Additionally, Montreal’s Jewish community has a special connection to its sister region of Beer Sheva and Bnei Shimon.
