If you still haven’t tried Project Zug, now is the perfect time to join the thousands of participants who have taken one of our courses.

This is no ordinary Jewish education program – when you sign up with Project Zug, you select a topic, and receive the materials to learn on your own schedule. You study with a partner, and if you don’t have one already, Project Zug will pick one for you. You can sit down together in a living room, or video conference your sessions together halfway across the world! The program, powered by Hadar, is friendly to learners of all ages and backgrounds.

Project Zug enters its Bar Mitzvah cycle, as for the 13th time Jews from around the world can connect and learn Torah. Project Zug offers over 30 courses that cover a wide variety of topics, from the songs of Bob Dylan to Jewish philosophy, to social justice. This cycle features a brand new course, created by Hadar’s very own Rabbi Ethan Tucker:

Not eating food in the same way as everyone else has been one of the central markers of Jewish identity for millennia. But many core questions about this practice of Kashrut remain open. Why do we keep Kosher in the first place? What is in our food and how do we know? What about how the food is prepared? Does it matter who prepared it? Who do we trust to prepare food that we can eat? How do we apply these ancient sources on what we can and can’t eat in a modern world with abundant soap, dishwashers, and stainless steel?
