What themes, approaches, and cultural experiences engage Jewish audiences? What educational approaches allow arts and cultural institutions to maximize their impact? What are the Jewish cultural arts and where do they thrive? These are some of the big questions GW’s Program in Experiential Education & Jewish Cultural Arts (EE/JCA) addesses.

The only master’s program of its kind in the United States, the EE/JCA program offers an intensive 13-month, cross-disciplinary curriculum combining coursework in Jewish cultural arts, experiential education, and museum education. Graduates will be prepared for careers in Jewish museums and arts institutions, community centers, college campus organizations, summer camps, and other innovative educational and cultural settings.

Qualified applicants are eligible to receive up to 85% tuition support, thanks to the generous support of the Jim Joseph Foundation and George Washington University. EE/JCA is now accepting applications for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The program features a year-long series of internships at Jewish arts and education organizations which familiarize students with the inner workings of nonprofit organizations around the Washington DC area. The Capstone Fellows Program – our summer internship placement – provides students with the opportunity to pursue full-time, six-week-long internships at exemplary Jewish arts and education organizations around the country. EE/JCA provides a stipend to defray the associated living and travel expenses. Students also cultivate workplace skills through professional development workshops that take place throughout the year.
