ELI Talks Announces Open Call for Speakers

This week, ELI Talks formally opens its applications for its Spring 2018 Speaker Fellowship. Of the applicants, 15 individuals will be chosen to participate in ELI Talks’ intensive speaker fellowship, culminating in the delivery of their talk to a live audience this summer. This next round of production is scheduled for June 18-20 in Detroit. The application deadline for the Spring 2018 Fellowship is Monday, February 26, 2018 at 12 pm EST. Speakers must submit a written application and a 1-minute video through the ELI Talks website. The deadline for applicants from the Detroit and Chicago metropolitan areas is extended through February 28, 2018.

By bringing together thousands of years of Jewish tradition and the latest in digital technology, ELI Talks provides a platform for Jewish voices from across the spectrum to share their stories and teach lessons they’re uniquely positioned to teach.

While ELI Talks has been cultivating, raising up, and transmitting inspired Jewish ideas for over five years now, this new cohort of speakers will be the first to experience exciting new changes behind-the-scenes at ELI Talks. As a result of ELI’s transition from an incubated project of the AVI CHAI Foundation and See3 Communications to an individual nonprofit organization at the beginning of this year, ELI Talks will be publicizing and releasing new tools, functionalities, and changes over the coming months, including its new staff headed by Executive Director, Mary Rubenstein.

“ELI Talks’ new-found independence will enable it to grow in new directions, create new partnerships, and think in new ways” said Mary Rubenstein, Executive Director of ELI Talks. “We look forward to continuing to make the transmission of inspired Jewish ideas accessible, collaborative, and free.”
