JDC Entwine

JDC Entwine, JDC’s young adult platform, is offering a free digital download of ReOrdered, its DIY Passover toolkit that gives users a global, interconnected experience around the themes of the holiday. Through ReOrdered, toolkit users get a chance to explore eight global Jewish communities – including their traditions, recipes, and stories – and to reflect on their own experiences as a global Jewish citizen. This year’s newly redesigned kit offers users an inside look at Jewish communities from Morocco, the former Soviet Union, Sarajevo, Argentina, Greece, India, Poland, and Ethiopia. The free kit was used last year at more than 400 Seders in 18 countries around the world and this year, more than 1,000 physical kits were ordered and distributed before the new digital version was deployed.

Jewish Grandparents Network

The Jewish Grandparents Network offers the “Ten Minute Dayenu Virtual Seder” designed for multi-generational families to use on the shared video platform of your choice.

jewishLive

jewishLIVE is a new project launched three weeks ago by the team behind the Judaism Unbound podcast. It is designed to be a central portal into the world of live-streaming Jewish experience during the Covid-19 physical distancing period. The jewishLIVE Facebook group already has nearly 7,000 members and posts continual updates about upcoming events and shares livestreams as they happen. On the jewishLIVE web site  you can also find an increasingly-comprehensive collection of digital materials designed to help facilitate digital seders this year, including links to the other major hubs of “Pandemic Passover” resources.

Mah nishtana hashanah ha zot? (Why is this year any different?).

We are used to the refrain from the traditional four questions asked at the seder, “Why is this night different from all other nights?” But at this moment in history, when we are staying indoors, practicing social distancing and trying to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, we will experience Passover this year as few of us ever have.
