DC Events: “In Shabbat We Trust” – Inauguration Weekend Events

On January 20 and 21, 2017 – in partnership with Jews United for Justice and T’ruah and co-sponsored by local and national Jewish, cultural, and activist organizations such as Jewish Women International, Lilith magazine, Jewish Women’s Archive, Bend the Arc, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), and the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) – Sixth & I will open its doors to serve the community and out-of-towners with meaningful opportunities for prayer, song, learning, and connection.

In Shabbat We Trust, will feature a diverse array of offerings including religious services throughout Shabbat, meals, an uplifting gathering before the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday morning, and a Saturday afternoon of salon-style discussions, text studies, yoga and meditation, and more. Saturday will conclude with a music, spoken word, and storytelling performance by artists from The Sanctuaries, the first interfaith arts community in the country, and conclude with Havdala.

Friday Night Services will take place at 6:00 pm.
