Rose Community Foundation; Gann Academy

After 22 years at Rose Community Foundation, Lisa Farber Miller plans to leave the Foundation effective February 1, 2019.

Lisa directs the Foundation’s Jewish Life program area, which works to create and sustain a more welcoming, vibrant, diverse and inspiring quality of Jewish life that engages more Jewish people. She has been instrumental in creating and directing many major initiatives that have had lasting impact on Jewish life including The Endowment Challenge, Rose Youth Foundation, BOOST (Building Organizational Operating Strength Together), Live On: Build Your Jewish Legacy, Roots & Branches Foundation, BUILDing Jewish ECE, and MazelTogether.org.

In February, Ms. Farber Miller will return to the nonprofit strategic consulting practice that she had for 13 years before she joined the Foundation.

Gann Academy, Greater Boston’s independent Jewish high school, has announced the appointment of Dr. Dalia Hochman as the next Head of School effective July 1, 2019.

Dr. Hochman is currently an advisor to schools around the country. She is best known for her leadership and strategic advisory work for Summit Learning, the high-profile Silicon Valley charter network funded by The Chan Zuckerberg Education Initiative.

A recipient of the Truman Scholarship, she holds a PhD in Education Policy, Politics, and Leadership from Columbia University and is a graduate of Yale University.

Hochman also studied at The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem during a Dorot Fellowship in Israel. She is deeply committed to Judaism, to Israel, and to Jewish pluralism, all of which are cornerstones of Gann Academy’s mission.
