Encounter Has Hired its 1st COO

Encounter, an educational organization cultivating more informed and constructive Jewish leadership on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, has named Dan Lange as its first Chief Operating Officer. Dan Lange joins the Encounter team at a moment of rapid growth, and is charged with overseeing the translation of vision and strategy into operational tactics, as well as the overall fortification of organizational infrastructure that is vital to achieving Encounter’s mission.

Dan joins Encounter after spending 6 years at the Union for Reform Judaism, most recently as Director of Youth Programs, where he oversaw URJ’s suite of teen and young-adult travel programs to Israel and directed the URJ’s NFTY Convention of 1,000+ young people. He holds an MBA and an MA from Brandeis University’s Hornstein Program, where he was also a Wexner Graduate Fellow and Davidson Scholar.
